This year, Studio B celebrates five years with Olivia Kleespies, ASID, an integral member of our interiors team whose thoughtful approach has helped shape homes from early design through the final layer of furnishings.

Since joining Studio B in 2021, Olivia has grown alongside our interiors practice, bringing a refined eye for materials, furnishings, and detail to projects across Colorado. Her work is grounded in the belief that architecture and interiors are strongest when conceived together, not as separate disciplines, but as one cohesive vision.

That approach means Olivia is often involved throughout the entire life of a project. She works closely with our architects, clients, consultants, and craftspeople as a home moves from initial ideas and material studies to construction, furniture selections, and installation. For Olivia, one of the most rewarding moments comes at the end: seeing years of decisions come together and experiencing a client’s reaction to their completed home.

Over the past five years, Olivia has brought creativity, curiosity, and a deep commitment to the details that make a home personal. We’re grateful for everything she contributes to Studio B and to the clients who trust us with their homes.

The annual list is the result of an extensive editorial review process. For 2026, previously recognized firms were invited to submit a single exemplary residence completed since 2021, with additional practices also considered. Each firm was evaluated by Forbes editors and an advisory board based on its submitted project, overall body of work, professional accomplishments, and alignment with the publication’s residential design principles.

Those principles consider qualities ranging from siting and local context, architectural form and detailing, materials and craft, and spatial experience to natural light, indoor-outdoor relationships, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, values that have long been central to Studio B’s approach.

Studio B Architecture + Interiors is honored to be recognized by the AIA Colorado Design + Honor Awards, an annual program celebrating outstanding architecture and the work of Colorado architects.

Most recently, Parkside Villa received an Award of Merit in the 2026 AIA Colorado Design + Honor Awards, joining a collection of Studio B projects recognized by AIA Colorado for design excellence.

The recognition reflects an idea central to our work at Studio B: architecture should respond specifically to its place, its purpose, and the people who inhabit it. Whether designing something entirely new or reimagining an existing structure, we approach each project as an opportunity to find the solution that belongs only there.

This month marks three years since Conor Burrows joined Studio B Architecture + Interiors.

For Conor, joining Studio B was also part of a larger return home. Born and raised in Aspen, his connection to the Roaring Fork Valley and the surrounding mountains began long before architecture became his profession. His interest in the field started early. As a sixth grader at Aspen Middle School, Conor participated in a mentorship program that gave him his first exposure to architecture as a profession. He later attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where his studies evolved from engineering toward environmental design and architecture. 

Over the past three years, Conor has grown into his role as Designer II, contributing to projects through many stages of the design process. His work moves between sketches and physical models, design development and technical detailing, and time in the field understanding how ideas translate into built work.

This year brought another meaningful milestone when Modern Luxury Aspen selected Conor for its “Next Generation of Aspen” feature, highlighting young professionals who grew up in Aspen and have returned to help shape the community’s future. The feature included an image of Conor atop North Maroon Peak, a particularly fitting portrait of the relationship between his work and the place he calls home.

Conor’s story at Studio B is still just beginning. We’re grateful for his curiosity, commitment to the work, and deep connection to Aspen, and we look forward to watching his role within the studio continue to evolve.

This month marks seven years since Robby Cuthbert, AIA joined Studio B full time, though his history with the studio began a little earlier.

Before officially joining the team, Robby spent two summers at Studio B building architectural models. Those early years offered an introduction to the studio’s design process and reflect something that still defines his approach today: using making as a way to explore, test, and refine ideas.

Over the past seven years, Robby has grown from a young designer into a licensed architect and an integral member of our team. His work is defined by curiosity, precision, and a commitment to understanding how an idea moves from concept to built architecture.

Robby is especially drawn to the process of making, using drawings, physical models, material studies, and close collaboration in the field to resolve details. His background in sculpture and furniture design continues to inform the way he thinks about craft, materials, and how things come together.

Earning his architectural license marked an important professional milestone, but his curiosity and willingness to keep studying an idea remain central to the way he works. Beyond the work itself, Robby brings humor and a genuine enthusiasm for architecture to the studio. His willingness to explore an idea, question assumptions, and keep refining the work reflects much of what we value about the design process at Studio B.

We’re grateful for Robby’s contributions over the past seven years, and the two summers that came before, and look forward to what comes next.
