Architecture

The Panorama House project encompasses the renovation and expansion of an existing residence originally designed by the renowned mid-century architect, James Hunter, earning it recognition as a Historic Landmark. Crafted for homeowners seeking a tranquil retreat, the residence delicately balances privacy amidst cherished landmarks and bustling trails while embracing the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Featuring an L-shaped plan, the residence boasts a secluded pool courtyard adorned with a pool, spa, and outdoor dining and lounge areas. Its slim orientation in the East-West axis minimizes visual impact when viewed from Chautauqua Park.

Interior Design + Furnishings

Inside, contemporary luxury seamlessly blends with a serene atmosphere, using natural materials such as Japanese plaster, limestone, and stained white oak. The main level integrates with the natural environment through transparency, connecting specific views and adjacent landscapes.

The original section of the home celebrates sweeping panoramas of Boulder City and the Front Range, embracing mid-century origins with warm wood, natural stone, and vintage furnishings. Notable interior features include a concealed speakeasy lounge and a professional-grade recording studio.

Sustainability

The residence achieves net-zero energy consumption through efficient building assemblies and active energy generation via PV panels and geothermal heating systems.

Panorama House embodies a holistic approach, seamlessly integrating sustainability, architectural heritage, and environmental stewardship. Preservation of prominent original elements alongside modern advancements marks a significant milestone in sustainability.
