The Perch, the personal residence of Scott and Susan Lindenau, founders of Studio B Architecture + Interiors, embodies a quiet dialogue between architecture, art, and landscape. Originally constructed in 1968, the home was fully renovated to honor its mid-century roots while creating a serene retreat within the aspen forested hillside of Aspen.

The interior furnishings reflect a balance of contemporary refinement and personal history. Signature pieces include a Gallotti & Radice living room sofa, a Baxter coffee table, Cassina counter stools and dining chairs, and a Zanotta primary bed and dining table. Decorative lighting by Arturo Alvarez adds sculptural elegance. On the lower level, a Danish sofa, an heirloom from Scott’s parents purchased in Copenhagen in 1968, was reupholstered, continuing its legacy within the home.

Personal meaning is layered throughout with the Lindenaus’ art collection, gathered during global travels. Much of the collection reflects their deep connection to Africa, with works from Kenya, Chad, and Rwanda, as well as pieces from South America and Mexico. Over twenty trips to Africa have shaped their appreciation for the region’s artistry, its tribal influences offering both memory and cultural resonance within the modernist shell.

The result is an interior that is both sophisticated and soulful: a vessel of memory and travel, a study in light and restraint, and a deeply personal home that feels inseparable from its forested mountain setting.
