Kyle’s journey into architecture began with a love for art and design, first expressed through graphite and charcoal drawings. After transitioning from graphic design to environmental design at the University of Colorado, he quickly became known for blending artistic sensibility with architectural innovation. While at CU, he served as vice president of the local AIAS chapter, leading impactful social media campaigns and building partnerships with local design events, early markers of his collaborative nature and commitment to community engagement.
A semester in Copenhagen deepened his appreciation for Scandinavian design, where principles of simplicity, functionality, and harmony with nature aligned seamlessly with his emerging architectural voice. A temporary move to New York City further broadened his perspective, exposing him to diverse urban forms and inspiring new ways of thinking through conceptual work for the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA), centered on creativity’s role in enriching community life.
Kyle’s career with Studio B began as an intern while completing his degree at CU, and his dedication, design intuition, and strong work ethic quickly propelled him from intern to full-time designer, and eventually to principal and partner. This early ascent reflects not only his talent but a clear sense of purpose and a drive to shape meaningful work. Now a co-owner, he remains closely connected to the University of Colorado, mentoring students as they navigate their academic and professional paths in architecture and design, reinforcing Studio B’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Within the studio, Kyle has helped shape the design of dozens of projects, bringing a nuanced attention to detail and a refined sense of form. His leadership emphasizes environmental responsiveness, creative collaboration, and the belief that architecture thrives when it uplifts the broader community.
Future Vision: As a partner, Kyle continues to refine the process of delivering distilled works of modern architecture in ways that respect and enhance the natural landscape.
