John Grinstead, AIA, CRAN

After nearly a decade in New York City and five years on the Central Cost of California, John has come home to Colorado—to raise his children and family where he was shaped, where the mountains first stirred his imagination, and to leave a lasting mark on the place he loves by continuing to shepherd projects to tangible reality.

With nearly 15 years of experience and technical knowledge gained working across the country, he now brings an agile and refined acumen to the work of crafting and creating in the landscapes that shaped him and various select projects across the nation. Whether it be glass-wrapped mountain retreats that dissolve into the sky, visionary reimagining of existing structures, or a thoughtful transformation of land and home that honors the passage of time from generation to generation. 

As a member of the AIA’s Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN), John is part of a national community of architects dedicated to advancing excellence in custom residential design. His involvement reflects a commitment to collaboration, education, and the highest standards of craftsmanship.
