MapLilly was raised in Charleston, SC, a city steeped in historical architecture in constant development. Charleston is a city of stories, with each building, person, and stone on the street having a story of its own. She grew up walking the downtown streets of Charleston admiring what the physical surroundings of a city can do for the people living there.
From a young age, Lilly loved making spaces her own, finding unique ways of making spaces comfortable and fun. Though she was too little to be designing her parents’ house, she was given the title “Mayor of Tiny Town” for the way she would intricately design spaces for her toys. As she grew older, Tiny Town disappeared, but her love of creating beautiful spaces did not fade. She would later go on to assist her parents in developing their own spaces, which included her own art.
A lover of living things, Lilly studied Biology in her undergraduate career and researched hybrid American Chestnut trees for 3 years during her time at Appalachian State University. There, her love of the mountains and outdoors only grew and, eventually, lead her to move to Aspen. Before coming to Studio B, she worked at a local municipality for 3 years and learned about housing and building regulations.
Craving creativity and new art forms, Lilly joined Studio B and is excited for what the future holds.
In her free time, Lilly loves spending time with her dog, making pottery, playing music, and baking sweet treats.
