MapKevin was raised in Colorado and has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1991 after graduating from Kansas State University with honors. He worked summers on construction sites to gain knowledge of buildings and materials. Kevin has a wide range of experience with different types of buildings. He has worked on residential, educational, commercial, mixed use, restaurants, and spiritual spaces. Each project and building type informs the next.
The studio or team approach to developing a design for each client is instrumental to a projects success. The client is crucial member of the team and in listening to the client, we as Architects can insure the client gets what they want and not just what they ask for. This team approach allows the experiences of each member to strengthen the team. Interns and Architects each contribute and learn from each other.
Kevin enjoys the building side of architecture as well as the design. He like ceramics, water coloring, wood working, as well as legos and building tensile fabric structures (forts) with his family. Skiing mountain biking, and backpacking have given Kevin the chance to introduce his kids to the lifestyle he grew up with.
Kevin remains active in the community; Summer trail crews, a past board president of Children’s Rocky Mountain School, the current Cub master for his son’s Cub Scout Pack as well as his daughters soccer coach.
