Christine Nichols

Interior Designer

Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture

Woodbury University, ‘97

Christine Nichols began her path as a creative thinker at a young age. Some of her earliest memories include creating models from outdoor materials in the yard of her childhood home in Los Angeles. Intrigued by the interplay of color, form and light, Christine was smitten by the transformative nature of design and knew she would pursue a career in interior architecture and attend Woodbury University before staring high school.

After college, Christine worked for architects and designers in the LA and San Francisco regions, while exploring opportunities as a production designer in the film industry. Seeing the backdrop of her designs serve as a point of inspiration for directors and talent alike was a springboard in her career. Christine has also had the pleasure of being the Furniture, Fixture and Equipment Specialist and Senior Project Management Coordinator for the renowned J. Paul Getty Trust. Using her design and communication skills to serve the needs of The Getty Museum, Research Institute and educational departments has been a highlight of her career to date.

Christine also has experience as an educator, instructing courses in Space Planning, Finishes & Materials and a senior studio course at her alma mater. Coming from a lineage of teachers, she is observant and truly enjoys working with people. She finds great joy in seeing her clients happy and has been honored to receive the Jane Joyce award for excellent customer service by Douglas Emmett (REIT) in the spring of 2020. She was nominated by the senior management team and was UCLA’s preferred architectural planner for over eight years.

Moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado’s western slope has been a delight for Christine, as she grew up in an outdoor-loving family. On any given weekend, you can find her skiing, hiking, biking or swimming. She is also fond of hosting dinners that, inevitably, end up with conversation and canvases as she thrives when spearheading artistic endeavors.
